Looking Forward to Promotional Gifts for 2011.

Wednesday, December 22nd, 2010

Christmas is upon us and all our plans for the season now have either been fulfilled or have to be abandoned with intentions of being better organised next year!

What we can do at this time of year is take stock of what was good and bad in 2010 and endeavour to learn the lessons to make 2011 an even better year. One thing that lots of us are guilty of in this busy world is leaving decisions until the last minute. This ultimately puts more pressure on and can sometimes lead to poor decisions or perhaps compromises at best. This is one of my personal struggles, as there are always pressures on time, but I know from experience that on the occasions when I do get things done in a timely manner, the outcome is usually more satisfying and the process a lot less stressful. There lies my recurring New Year’s resolution, and I will stick to it this year!

When it comes to the business of promotional gifts the same applies. Sooner is always better than later. Although there are many good promotional products which can be printed and delivered within a few days when you’re really up against a deadline, you can have more choice and perhaps even achieve a better price if you can get your order in early. Sourcing promotional merchandise from overseas can often reduce the unit cost, but the lead time is obviously much longer. The sooner you make your decisions about the promotional items you would like to support your campaigns and marketing events, the more options you have.

The next seasonal gifts to come into play will be for Valentine’s Day (14th February), Burn’s Birthday (25th January), St David’s Day (1st March), St. Patrick’s Day (17th March), Mothering Sunday (3rd April), St George’s Day (23rd April), and Easter (24th April). Don’t forget the end of the financial year (31st March) with budgets to be used and then the extra bonus of the Royal Wedding this time round on 29th April. Lots of national occasions in the first part of the year to hang your marketing and promotional hat on and not too far round the corner now. It’s never too early to start but can be too late!

Here’s to a prosperous 2011 for us all! We look forward to working with you.

…and so to a New Year of Promotional Gifts

Tuesday, December 22nd, 2009

Last day of work before Christmas – hooray!! We’ve had such lovely seasonal snowy weather lately and I’m beginning to feel a little of the spirit of goodwill and looking forward to the holidays….but that then always leads you to thinking of the end of the festive season and onto a whole new year to plan and think about. We get this kind of ‘proper’ winter weather so rarely; it is quite nice to contemplate the different options it gives us….

If the weather continues like this, it provides all sorts of opportunities for a range of suitable promotional products to suit the season. Several come immediately to mind…promotional ice scrapers, umbrellas, beanie hats, fleece jackets, high visibility clothing, promotional ponchos, flasks and insulated travel mugs, torches and candles. These are just a few of the possibilities for a slightly different take on promotional gifts at this time of year. Many people see summer time as offering some of the best options for promotional merchandise, so concentrating on something for the colder months can suggest something different for your promotional goods which will get you noticed and set you apart from your competitors.

So many plans to make, things to think about….where to start? Probably most of us will put off any real decisions now until after New Year, but you could ’steal a march’ by making a move now.

Always having useful promotional products to hand means that you can create an immediate connection or reward with visiting clients or potential customers, which will underpin and secure further business.

Branded Promotional Gifts Have Added Cache

Friday, December 11th, 2009

When you are giving promotional gifts to your clients, potential customers and business associates, you want to create a good impression of your company and the products or services you offer. The whole underlying premise is that you want the recipients of your promotional products to appreciate the gesture and for them to feel an increased sense of loyalty and obligation towards your business. The process works towards maintaining your customer base and reaching out to other potential clients, with the ultimate goal of increasing profitability.

With this important goal in mind, the act of choosing promotional gifts to support a particular campaign or just to maintain a presence in the minds of your customers is an incredibly important one. You can spend either small or vast amounts of your marketing budget on promotional merchandise, but you always need to make sure that however much it is, your money is well invested. Your careful choice of promotional gifts is key to their success, and one way of ensuring your promotional items have that extra bit of cachet about them is to choose products from well known brands. Sports related gifts from the likes of Slazenger, PGA Tour and Nike Golf have great kudos among the sporting fraternity, while pens from Waterman, Balmain, Cross, Sheaffer and Papermate to name but a few, have an added quality both perceived and actual.

PG Branding now feature a huge collection of branded gifts to suit all kinds of occasions and applications. Do take a look at our user friendly website and select your branded products from the great range on offer.

Promotional Gifts are an Important Marketing Medium

Tuesday, December 8th, 2009

It is important to recognise the potential of promotional products as part of a whole marketing and branding strategy. Promotional items, if well chosen and properly employed, can be a very efficient and cost effective advertising tool for any company. This is why even large well established companies continue to distribute small imprinted promotional gifts such as mugs, pens, key rings and umbrellas to their customers. It is also the reason why when major companies hold conferences and meetings, the delegates are equipped with conference folders and conference bags to take away from the event. Discussions are easily forgotten afterwards, printed handouts, information and fliers may only be considered useful at the time but quickly consigned to the bin; only your promotional merchandise may survive to act as a reminder of the associated event. These useful items, printed with advertisements, can be used every day over a period of time, ensuring plenty of exposure for the marketing messages they display.

When considering products to include in a marketing campaign, many make the mistake of underestimating the lead-time necessary to procure the required promotional merchandise and have it printed and delivered. The task may be considered as trivial or secondary, or perhaps the inclusion of promotional products as part of the marketing plan is only considered if there is some budget left after everything else is taken care of. The truth is, however, that promotional gifts are possibly one of the most important things given out during an event because they may be the only items taken away as a reminder.

Promotional items are an important element in any marketing campaign and should be properly accounted for in the initial budget. Well considered and carefully chosen promotional gifts can have enormous marketing and advertising impact. If utilized properly the potential return on investment can be huge.
